David Calvitto

David Calvitto was born in America and lived in Manhattan for most of his life before moving to London in 2012.

Stage credits include: the West End production and national tour of 12 Angry Men, as Juror 2; the Father in Cock, by Mike Bartlett at Theatre des Capucin, Luxembourg; Marilyn Monroe’s psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph Greenson in The Marilyn Conspiracy and the defence attorney in 9 Circles, both at The Park Theatre, London; Rooster in The Shawshank Redemption at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin; Mr. White in Secret Cinema’s immersive production of Casino Royale in Shanghai, China; Elder Jay in The Christians at the Gate Theatre, London. David has also appeared in a series of comedies by Brian Parks in New York and the Edinburgh Festival (Goner, The House, American Poodle, Enterprise), as well as in Fringe First winners Americana Absurdum (Menier Chocolate Factory, London) and Enterprise (Soho Theater, NYC). David has performed John Clancy’s one person show The Event internationally for more than a decade, including in New York, London, Amsterdam, Belfast, Berlin, Perth, Adelaide and Luxembourg.

Awards: The Stage Best Actor for Horse Country, Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Adelaide Festival Best Actor for The Event.

Directing Credits include: site specific productions for Jethro Compton Productions / Belt Up Theatre of the Hunchback of Notre Dame at Selby Abbey, Yorkshire and Macbeth at the Clerkenwell Prison in Clerkenwell, London; Enterprise, (Edinburgh, New York); Richard Dormer’s solo show The Half starring Guy Masterson (Edinburgh & Adelaide festivals).
