Graham Watts (Director)
Graham Watts has directed around 130 professional theatre productions, several short films, has worked in television, written for theatre, radio, and film, and has enormous experience leading workshops and education work. In 2018 he directed the first ever production of Margaret Cavendish’s “The Unnatural Tragedy” (1662) for which he has been nominated for Best Director in the Off-West End Theatre Awards (See Press Quotes page for reviews). Script available on request.
During the Covid 19 pandemic Graham founded a You Tube channel “Lost Ladies (found)” in which he produced and directed full Zoom productions of plays written by women from the past but ignored. His production of “Much Ado About Nothing” played a season in Washington Square Park, New York City, in the summer of 2005.
Companies he has worked for include the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre of Great Britain, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre London, English Shakespeare Company, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Granada Television, Hull Truck, Mercury Theatre, Colchester (where he was Associate Director), and the English Theatres in Vienna, Hamburg and Frankfurt.
Graham is particularly known for his work on Shakespeare (having directed 18 separate Shakespeare plays in 30 productions) but also new writing, education, and short films.
