Jonny Magnanti

Born and brought up in LEEDS. Jonny moved to London in 1984 to attend The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since leaving drama school Jonny enjoyed a career in all aspects of the profession from West End and Musicals, Theatre Tours, Rep, Film, Television and Voiceovers, where he voiced many TV and radio campaigns.

Moving to the East Sussex countryside, Jonny took some time out to be a full time Dad.

With both children now grown up, he returned to the profession playing  Igor in 3 Winters at the NT directed by Howard Davies, the premiere of The Moor, Happy Jack by John Godber, Midsummer Night’s Dream and Twelfth Night. He also filmed Musketeers for the BBC, Doctors, Lucky Man and American Monster.

Most recently Jonny has filmed The Girl before for BBC/HBO and Grace for ITV. Recent theatre includes Antony in Antony and Cleopatra, The Duke/Launce in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Marc in Art and David Rubin in the play Car Crash written and directed by his son Bruno.

Since 2021 Jonny has worked regularly in Germany appearing in the plays, 39 Steps, Great Expectations, Romance in D, Ben Butler, Happy Jack and Murder by Misadventure

He was last seen in The Ink Black Heart, the Strike Detective series for BBC/HBO which was on in December.
